Moulton Nets swept by Pana

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Pana was just better in the end. The Panthers beat Shelby 7th volleyball, 24-26, 25-19, 25-8. Pana beat Shelby 8th in straight sets, 25-17, 25-16.

After the gut-check win in game 1, 26-24, the Rams lost momentum. Once that happened it couldn’t be resurrected. Young Shelby just faded in game 3.

“The girls started off strong against Pana, “ said Ram 7th coach Elizabeth Fanning. “The first game was the best game they have played to date. However, we lost our momentum and just couldn’t pull out that victory.”

Despite the fade, Hannah Kemp led Shelby 7th again with 16 points and four aces. She had one of the just three kills. Lauren Russell was also a double digit performer with 13 points, a team-high five aces, one of the other kills and one of four blocks.

Elizabeth Bowyer had the other kill, plus another of the four blocks and two of their 11 aces. Isabel Logue dished the only two assists on the Rams side.
