Shelby Volleyball Sweeps Argenta

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — After getting swept by Pana last week, the Shelby Moulton volleyball program bounced back by sweeping Argenta. Shelby 7th won, 25-19, 25-14, and Shelby 8th won 25-16, 17-25, 25-10.

"The girls came oput with energy and determination at this home game," said Elizabeth Fanning. "During both games, the girls came together as a team to earn the win."

Hannah Kemp continued to lead the team from the serving line, racking up 18 points on an amazing 11 aces, for a double-double. She also had one of the three kills.

Isable Logue followed with nine points and all three assists. Carolyn Nohren and Lauren Russell added two aces each, as the Rams delivered 17 aces.

Morgan Parsons led at the net with two kills and a block, while Cassidy Tucker rose for two more blocks. Shelby 7th had more blocks (4) than kills (3).

"I was very proud of the girls tonight," said Ram 8th coach Taylor Rhodes. "They played very well as a team on both defense and offense. The communication on the floor was the best it has been yet. It was good to get a conference win, as well."

The Rams controlled game 1, winning by nine points, but then had a let down in game 2, losing by eight points. But the ebb and flow ebbed back towards the Rams as they dominated Argenta in the deciding game 3, winning by 15 points.

Four Rams were in double figures, while one of them had a near double-double.

Emma White led the Rams at the line with 16 points and five aces. She also led at the net with five kills and dished five assists, giving her a share of 15 of the team's points.
