Lady Timberwolves Munch Moulton

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Okaw Valley Middle School basketball started their regular season storming the gates at Shelbyville Moulton on Thursday night. Like in nature, sheep have little defense against the Pack. Okaw 7th won the prelim game, 35-3, then Okaw 8th won, 43-9.

Shelby 7th still had hope after the 1st quarter, dfown just 8-2. But, by half-time Moulton was mutton, mortally wounded and prey for the Wolves, down 15-2.

The 3rd period only increased their deficit by six, down 21-3 heading into the 4th. However, Okaw pulled out the stops and finished on a 14-0 run.

Bella Benning led Okaw in double digits, scoring 11 points on five baskets and 1-of-3 at the line. Madison Vogel sank eight shots and Kate Jeffers was 4-of-10 for eight points.

Elizabeth Bowyer was the only Ram to make a bucket. Mackenzie Perry was 1-of-4 at the stripe to cap the Ram scoring.

Both teams were equally sloppy. Shelby had 36 turnovers and Okaw 30.
