Okaw Valley Nets Lions

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Okaw Valley volleyball picked up another win on Thursday, caging the LSA Lions, 25-17, 25-22

Okaw Valley coach Jody McCormick is very happy with the way her team is playing right now.

"It feels good to be putting some "W's" on the record sheet," Coach McCormick said. "The girls are playing well, fundamentally and as a team."

Recent Daily Union Athletes of the Week, Shelby and Megan Dash had been taking the point for the T'wolves, but other players are starting to step up.

Amy Orris swung for 8 kills and rose for four blocks (12 net points). With her team-high 7 digs, it made Orris the defensive leader in the match with 11 defensive stats.

Blair Monroe also stepped it up. She also got up for four blocks to add to her four kills (8 net points).

Senior setter Mollee Decesaro continued to provide stability for the offensive game. She dished out 19 assists in a 2-game set, approaching some area records for a match. She also was one of the defensive leaders with five digs.

Megan Dash and Shelby Dash didn't disappear when the others stepped up. Megan Dash swung for a team-high nine kills, with one block (10 net points). Shelby Dash was a co-leader in mid-court defense, getting seven digs.

Okaw Valley (4-8, 1-2 LOVC) is at home on Tuesday hosting Martinsville.
