---- — Okaw Valley volleyball has now won five of the last eight matches they have played and climbed above .500 in the conference, after beating Martinsville on Tuesday, 12-25, 25-23, 25-17.
Coach McCormick was very happy about this win.
"We were missing starting setter Mollee Decesaro, but came back with a momentum changing win in the second game," said Coach McCormick. "In the 1st game, we were timid and scared."
Coach McCormick made changes for the second game, putting in sophomore setter Nicole Miller.
"The girls got into a comfortable rhythm, put some points on the board and started to come alive," Coach McCormick.
Back-up setter Nicole Miller dished 11 of the 16 assists and helped turn the tide.
"The second and match-changing substitution was putting in freshman middle hitter Kristy Burford to battle the tall hitters at the net.
JV player Kristy Burford came in and scored one kill and two blocks,
"From that point on, it was game on and the we maintained our defense and our cool to win the 3rd game."
Okaw Valley registered 27 digs in the match, with Shelby Dash digging for 12 of the 27.
Megan Dash racked up a bunch more net points to lead the Timberwolves in this match. She scored a team-high 10 kills and another season-high 9-block performance (19 net points).
