---- — The Stew-Stras Comets dealt the Mulberry Grove Aces a huge loss, trumping them on Thursday, 25-9, 25-2.

Mulberry Grove almost went set, getting out-scored by the Comets, 50-11, in a too-quick, 2-game set.

"The girls were able to keep play on our side at our level," said Comet coach Ronda Schlechte. "Offense ran smoothly and serving was strong. We kept up the momentum and played well."

It didn't take much to master Mulberry Grove. Stew-Stras swung for 19 kills. Becca Schlechte dished 12 of the 16 assists towards the 19 kills. Kendall Knop led the attack with six kills.

The service attack was dominant. Clara Kaufman led the Comets with six of the 15 aces. Knop had four, Schlechte three and Brittani Tabbert two.

Stew-Stras only had to get down for six digs to defend Mulberry Grove and didn't need to block at all and still dominate the Aces.

Stew-Stras varsity (12-5, 7-1 NTC) and JV (7-5, 4-4 NTC) travels to NTC leader St. Anthony on Tuesday.
