Ram #1 doubles beats Mattoon

Shelbyville tennis lost to Mattoon on Monday, 7-2. However, the Streaking #1 Ram doubles team got the upset.

“The #1 doubles team won!” said Ram coach Ryan Scott. “We beat Mattoon #1 doubles, which will most likely be ranked #1 in sectionals. They have been playing so well this year and went to state last year.”

Half of that streaking doubles pair, Alexis Halbrook, also won another singles match. She beat her doubles opponent in #3 singles, 6-3, 7-6, for the only other Ram win on the day.

Shelbyville tennis heads to the Casey Sectional on Friday at 11 a.m. one stop short of State.
