Stew-Stras sweeps Hornets

---- — Stew-Stras Jr. High basketball took out Beecher City in a sweep on Friday. The 7th grade got the win, 30-21, and the 8th grade almost pitched a shutout, 51-6.

in the 7th grade game, Adam Burton led Stew-Stras with 14 points. Mason Stewart led Beecher City with 10 points. BC’s Dakota McKee followed with eight points and Stew-Stras’ Jaden Miller had six points.

Stew-Stras led 20-18 from their top two scorers. BC had just one more scorer, while Stew-Stras had five more scorers, extending the Stew-Stras lead to the 9-point margin of victory.



Stew-Stras 30, Beecher City 21

Stew stats: Adam Burton 14 (7 FGs), Jaden Miller 6 (3 FGs), Luke Jesgarz 4 (2 FGs), Jacon Allen 2 (FG), Aaron Kirby 2 (FG), Clay Tabbert 1 (1/6 FTs), Wyatt Smith 1 (1/4 FTs). Team FGs 14. Team FTs 2-of-10.

In the 8th grade tilt, BC was out-numbered. BC had two scorers tallying just six points, total. Stew-Stras had three scorers with more points than that, individually. Tanner Clark scored 12, Jon Koester scored nine, and Brady Hansen scored eight.

Those three scorers were 23 better than the whole BC team. Six other Stew-Stras scorers extended the margin of victory by 22 more points.
