Her All-American honor was the second of this year. Renfro also earned All-American honors during the indoor track season. Renfro had a 5th-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles at the Division III Indoor Championships. Renfro has cut a full second off her personal best time from her freshman year. Renfro won an IHSA state track title and a 2nd place medal, both in the 100 meter high hurdles for Central A&M, while in high school.

Stringer and Renfro joined two other A&M alumni as All-Americans. Ben Stringer, Genny’s older brother was a 2-time All-American in track and field at UW-Whitewater. Ben Stringer placed 5th and 2nd in the discus at the NCAA Championships in 2009 and 2011, respectively. Stringer was also a conference champ in the javelin in 2011. Stringer earned a 4th place medal in the discus for Central A&M at state, while in high school.

Megan Stringer, Genny’s older sister, then earned All-American honors at Illinois College, twice. Megan Stringer placed 7th in the nation in the heptathlon (3.381 points) in the NCAA D-III Indoor Track Championships in 2013. She followed that up with a 3rd place finish in the heptathlon (4,822 points) in the NCAA D-III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 2013.

The heptathlon score includes a combined score from heptathletes competing in seven events: the long jump, javelin throw, 800 run, 100 hurdles, high jump, shot put, and 200 dash. Stringer was a state champ for Central A&M in high school, both in the discus and in the 100-meter hurdles.
