Central A&M Gets Share Of OVC Title

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Central A&M wrapped up the conference season on Friday with a share of the title by beating the Clinton Maroons black and blue, 73-36.

The Raiders opened with a 20-6 run, then followed it up with a 24-7 run to lead by 31 at the half, 44-13. They pulled in their claws and held serve in the 3rd to lead by 32 as the fat lady sang, 57-25. In the 4th, a final 16-11 run put down the Maroons.

A&M had three, almost four players in double figures. Alex Snyder led A&M with 17 points, including draining trey and burying 10-of-14 free throws. Curtis Ramsey followed with 14 points with six scores in side the arc. Andrew Bray had an even dozen, striking twice from the arc and making 2-of-3 at the line. Spencer Garner was almost the fourth Raider in double figures, scoring nine points with a trey and 4-of-4 at the line.

Central A&M didn't need to focus at the line and shot just 60%ice as many 3-pointers. (18-of-30), however they still had a 9-point edge at the line as Clinton shot 9-of-12. A&M had twice as many field goals as Clinton 24 to 12 and twice as many 3s.

Central A&M is the #1 seed in the Arcola 1A Regional and will play Thursday at 6 p.m. against the winner of the Bement/Cerro Gordo game.
