Doty had 26, claiming 3rd.

Allen lost the closest match of the night or may have won it all. He and Debbie Spellman lost a match 25-24. Jon Galvin (3-4) and Roy Franklin (2-5) lost the next closest match of the night, 25-20.

Brad Phegley was fourth, winning every other round. Phegley won round 1, then lost, then won, then lost, then won, then lost, then won again.

Some of the SHC pitchers, like Dorothy Hack, George Huntington, Dale Westendorf and former SHC regular Bill Koons, had gone to a big sanctioned event in Danville and didn’t throw on Thursday.

The Shelbyville Horseshoe Club pitches weekly tournaments every Thursday night beginning about 7 p.m. at their courts across the railroad tracks from the corner of North 12th Street and North Morgan in Shelbyville. Local guests and visitors to Lake Shelbyville are welcome.
