Shelbyville Moulton boys repeated as the 7th grade conference champs and the 8th grade conference champs on Tuesday.
"We have won the 8th grade meet 3 years in a row," said Moulton coach Chris Mosley. " "This is the 2nd year in a row for the 7th grade."
Shelby 7th (98 points) won the conference title by almost 30 points. Maroa-Forsyth was second (69), Sullivan third (67), and Clinton fourth (66). Monticello (49), A&M (40), Argenta-Oreana (21), Meridian (12), and Warrensburg-Latham (9) followed.
Shelby 8th scored 140 points in their championship, winning by 70 points. Monticello (69) was 2nd. Clinton (57), Argenta-Oreana (47), A&M (36), Meridian (28), Maroa-Forsyth (28), Warrensburg-Latham (25), and Sullivan (1) followed.
The 7th grade boys 4x200 relay team (Cameron, Pullen, Gottfriedt, Watson) broke the school record in the (1:47.74). Turner Pullen missed the school record in the 110 hurdles in prelims by .01 of a second (18.23). Pullen was 2nd in the final (18.52) to CAM's Logan Farris (18.41).
Quinn Martz won a horse race in the 800 meters, a margin of just 2.20 seconds in a two lap race. Sprinter Ryan Skowronski was 2nd in the 200 (26.08) and 4th in the 100 (12.45) and was on the 4th place 4x1 (53.97) and 2nd place 4x4 (4:10.33).
Tylr Gottfriedt was 2nd in the high jump (5-2) and Peyton Koonce was 2nd in the discus (87-2.5). Brett Spears went the top height of 8 feet in the pole vault.
Riley Black (CAM) won the 7th grade 400 meters (58.78) and teammate Devon Nichols was 2nd in the shot put (29-11.5).
For the 8th grade boys, Hunter Plummer had a 40 point meet for us winning 4 events. He won the 400 dash (57.79) and the long jump (18-8). He also was on the 1st place 4x2 (1:44.06) and 4x4 (4:00.60) relays.
His brother Keaton Plummer had a 38-point meet. He won the high jump (5-6), and was 2nd in the 200 dash (25.9). He also was on the 4x2 and 4x4 relays.
