SHELBYVILLE, IL. —
Shelby Area Class A track athletes are headed back to the IESA State Track Meet in East Peoria on Friday and Saturday. Once again, Central A&M is taking the most entries and the most athletes, but overall the crop from Shelby is not as bumper as it has been in recent years.
Central A&M has 27 entries, including 21 individual entries from 16 different athletes, plus six relays. CAM 7th girls and 8th girls have 11 entries each. CAM 7th boys have four and the 8th boys have two.
Neoga girls are the next most from a school with 11 entries including seven individual entries from five different athletes, plus four relays.
Stew-Stras has nine entries, including seven individual entries from six athletes, plus two relays. Okaw Valley has two entries. Windsor has two entries. CHBC has one qualifier.
Isaac Kramer (SS) qualified in two events and is #4 ranked in the 7th boys discus. Teammate Tanner Clark is ranked #6 in the 800 run. Courtney Reel (SS) is also ranked #4 in the 7th girls 800 run. CHBC's lone entry is Keegan Martin ranked #4 in the 7th boys pole vault. Neoga's Jaycie Roy is #5 ranked in the 8th girls long jump and is #30 ranked in the 400.
Olivia Jordan of CAM id #5 ranked in the 8th girls shot and is #22 in the discus. Teammate Katie Conlin is #6 in the 800 and Nashlynn Mathias is #7 in the 1600. Taryn Sams of CAM is also ranked #7, but in the 7th girls 100 dash, plus #23 in the 200 dash.
Jayla Abernathy of Neoga qualified in two 7th girls individual events, #11 in the 200 dash and #17 in the 100 dash. Windsor's Kasey Bean is ranked #12 in the 100 hurdles.
