Raiders Double-up Warrensburg

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Central A&M's school of piranhas fed on Warrensburg on Monday for a 34-point win, 65-31.

Taylor Jordan and Allie Heaton led the Raider crew with 14 and 13 points, respectively, then shared the wealth with eight other scorers. Ryan Dooley and Ginny Rose Stringer led the rest of the Raiders with 9 and 7 points.

Jordan cashed in twice from the arc, while Dooley, Stringer, and Mikaela Cole joined the long range sortie with solo missiles.

A&M doubled up Warresburg in a low-scoring 1st period, 12-6., then opened the wound further with a 23-7 run before the half, to lead by 22 at the break, 35-13. The 3rd was like the first, not much passion, but the Raiders still upped the lead to 28 points, 46-18.

Down the home stretch, the Raiders out-sprinted the Cardinals and extended their margin of victory to more than double the Cards total.

The Raiders were less than focused at the free throw line, making just 12-of-22 shots.

A&M (#1 seed) begins A&M Regional play on Wednesday at 6 p.m. against the winner of the Decatur Lutheran/Decatur Christian game.
