Comets Cruise past St. E-B

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — The Stew-Stras Comet volleyball team cruised past St. Elmo and singed the St. Elmo-Brownstown Eagles on Thursday, 25-17, 25-20.

Brittani Tabbert and Kendall Knop led the attack for the Comets with six and five kills, respectively. Becca Schlechte followed with four kill.

Baylee Quast dished out a team high 11 assists, while Schlechte set seven. The pair set up 17 of the 19 kills (89%).

Sarah Locke led the mid-court defense with eight digs, while Knop dug seven and Quast six. Knop also delivered three of the six Comet aces.

Stew-Stras varsity (7-5, 3-1 NTC) and JV (5-2, 3-1 NTC) host South Central on Monday.
