SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Neoga placed 3rd in the highly competitive Windsor Invite on Saturday. No matter, Stew-Stras knocked off Neoga on Tuesday, 25-20, 27-25. The Comets beat South Central the night before, 19-25, 25-20, 25-21, but didn't play near as well.

Becca Schlechte dished 15 assists both nights and was one of four Comets that recorded double-digit digs against South Central. Baylee Quast dished another 12 assists against the Cougars. The pair dished 27 assists towards the 29 Comet kills.

Quast, Kendall Knop and Brittani Tabbert joined Schlechte with double-digit digs and Sarah Locke added nine more for a 50 of the 53 Comet digs.

Knop had almost half of the kills, leading the team with 13. The Comets also had a block party. Clara Kaufman had two and a  half blocks, while Schlechte and Morgan Stremming had three half-blocks, each. Tabbert had a block and Quast a half-block.

Despite the ton of positive stats against South Central, the Comets were off again, on again in the 3-game set.

"Consistency just was no there," said Comet coach Ronda Schlechte. "We had too many ups and downs. We are trying to find our groove without Lindsay on the floor, but we will get there. We didn't  give up and the girls kept fighting to pull off the win."
