Shelbyville fell behind on Tuesday, but climbed over the Maroons to get a win in two, 25-22, 25-22.
"This, overall, was a much better match for us." said Ram coach Lisa Peifer. 'We started so slow, but I was proud hiw they fought back and chipped away at the lead Clinton had. I felt were much smarter and after we were able to slow down their big hitter, we were going at them aggressively."
After taking the lead at the net in recent matches, Maddy Boone had a hit crew helping her in this match. Boone had six kills, Rachel Fox had six kills, Brandy Smith had six kills, and Kelcie Darnell had five kills.
"Our service receive was good, so that gave us an opportunity to utilize all our hitters to keep them on the defense. It was a good conference win."
Boone also led the defense, getting down for nine digs and rising up for three blocks.
Darnell and Smith were also leaders at the line, with 13 points, two aces and 12 points, one ace, respectively. Lindsey Eigsti dished out double-digit assists again (14) of the 23 assists leading to 27 kills.

Shelbyville JV pulled away from their Clinton counterparts and left them in the dust, 25-21, 25-13.
"We stepped up our intensity and it showed," said JV coach Jamie Watson. "We were able to connect with our setters better. Our serving was more consistent overall. Now, we are going to work on everyone staying engaged in each play."
