SS/W, BCCH Finish Looking Up

WINDSOR, IL —

Stew-Stras/Windsor and Beecher City/Cowden-Herrick 8th grade basketball teams opened the NTC 8th grade tourney as the bottom seeds, #7 and #8, respectively. They ended the tourney still looking up at the rest of the conference.

Stew-Stras/Windsor did get a win in the consolation bracket and finished in 6th place, while BCCH did not get a win and tied with Neoga at the bottom of the barrel.

BCCH had to start out the tourney on Wednesday, playing the #1 seeded team, Altamont and Stew-Stras/Windsor had to open on Thursday, playing #2 seeded Sigel. BCCH lost, 35-11, and SS/W lost, 42-19.

Tabitha Endlsey led BCCH in the loss with three points, while Stone led Altamont with 14 points. Altamont had a 9-2 run to start the game. They got on track in the 2nd scoring eight points, but still fell back by 15 at the break, 23-10. BCCH was almost shutout in the 2nd half, being out-scored, 22-1.

SS/W suffered a 13-1 run at the hands of Sigel in the 1st period of their game. SS/W played competitive after that, being outscored by just 11 points in the remaining three quarters.
