Stew-Stras Cans Kansas

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Stew-Stras volleyball came on like gangbusters in the Arcola Sectional semifinal on Tuesday, then played strong late in crunch time, beating Tri-County and heading to the sectional championship, 25-10, 26-24.

"The girls came out really strong in game 1," said Comet coach Ronda Schlechte. "Everyone was on! We found our groove. This is probably our best game yet! We did struggle a game 2 with some serve receive and service errors, but was still able to stay afloat. We are looking forward to continue our season as long as possible."

Senior Brittani Tabbert asserted herself once again. She led the Comet attack with 13 kills and a block (14 net points). Senior Baylee Quast also played big, delivering two aces, dishing a team-high 12 assists and getting down for a team-high nine digs.

Kendall Knop also had nine digs, plus eight kills. Becca Schlechte dished double-digit assists (10) and added four kills.
