With two outs, Vonderheide and Keown smacked back-to-back doubles. Up 10-2, Theis drove a ball deep to center and over the fence for the 2-run, walk-off homer, ending the game by 10-run sudden death, 12-2.

In the nightcap, Keown continued to show the mastery he had during the spring season for Shelbyville. This spring, Keown went 5-0, with three complete games out of four starts. He had just a 1.01 ERA with just six runs and nine walks in 34 innings, striking out almost six batters a game.

Thursday, Keown threw a complete game shutout with just two hits and one walk. Only one St. Anthony runner got to 3rd out of just five base runners.

Shelby got on the board in the 1st, when Michael Baker led off with a double. Hawkins reached on a 1-out error and Baker scored, 1-0. In the 4th, Cole led off with a single and stole 2nd. Ground balls drove him home, 2-0. In the 6th, Cole figured in the scoring again with a lead-off double. Hawkins doubled him home to cap the scoring, 3-0.
