W/SS Wins 3 In A Row

Windsor/Stew-Stras baseball ran their record to 17-4 on Tuesday. After a couple blowout wins on the weekend over Tri-County and ALAH, it was another sterling performance from ace Christian Vonderheide on Tuesday. Vonderheide threw a 3-hitter, striking out 13 as he beat Altamont, 4-1.

Vonderheide and Garrett Ziegler had a pitcher’s duel going until the bottom of the 5th. Windsor drew first blood with a run in the 1st. Altamont answered with a run in the 3rd, when Nick Miller was hit by a pitch and Ziegler drove him in.

In the bottom of the 5th, W/SS put a couple more runs across to lead, 3-1. The Devils added an insurance run in the 6th. Vonderheide continued to hold court and notched another win.

Ziegler only allowed five hits in six innings, but walked seven and struck out just four.

Devon Deremiah led the Devil hitters, going 2-for-3 with the game’s only double, driving in a run, and scoring once. Alex Allen was 1-for-2, with a run scored. Bryse Bugger singled, walked, and scored. Vonderheide walked twice and scored once. Nic Hutchinson singled and drove in a run.
