Speed Show Buckles Up

Silver Spurs Speed Buckle Show

The Silver Spurs 4-H Club held their annual Speed Buckle Show on May 4.

The Speed Show consisted of six classes broken into three age divisions: 13 and Under, 14-18, and 19 and over. Classes included: Stop in the Box, Flags, Barrels, Poles, Plug Race and Keyhole.

High point sponsors for the speed show were as follows:

High Point – Speed:

13 & under – Brix Vet Service, Shelbyville

14-18 – Bill & Candy Pettry, Shelbyville

19 & over – First National Bank of Pana, Assumption Branch

Reserve High Point – Speed:

13 & under – Horse Heaven Farms, Melody Walter, Pana

14-18 – Matt Lewis, Shelbyville

19 & over – Dave Merriman Shoeing, Moweaqua

Winners received an engraved belt buckle and the reserve winners received an embroidered halter.

The 4-H Club would like to thank everyone who helped at the show, donated items to the concession stand and purchased concession items.

Results were as follows:

13 & Under Division had Hallie Horsman of Shelbyville taking first in all 6 classes – Stop in the Box, Poles, Barrels, Flags, Plug Race, and the Keyhole Race.

14-18 division winners:

Poles - Kamryn Aylesworth, Mt. Pulaski

Barrels - Kamryn Aylesworth, Mt. Pulaski

Flags – Teri Hall, Pana

The 19 & over division was won by husband and wife from Sadorus.
