Records Fall At Shelby Invite

Highlights of the Shelby Moulton Track Invite last Friday were two school records falling. Turner Pullen got his own 8th grade record in hurdles and Ryan Skowronski broke Cody Boarman’s school record in the 8th grade 400. Carson Beyers tied her own record in the girls 7th grade pole vault. She is a 6th grader and broke the 7th grade school record.

Skowronski set a new 400 dash record making the lap in just 53.9. The previous record was set by Cody Boarman, who went on as a scholarship track athlete at EIU. Skowronski won two other events at the invite. He won the mile in4:58.5 and he won the 800 meter run in 2:28.1.

Turner Pullen set a new school 100 hurdle record (16.25) in winning the 8th grade hurdles. Beyers’ pole vault record sits at 7 feet even. The 4x2 Ram relay won and 4x4 Ram relay won, as well.

In the 7th grade boys meet, Brett Kennell scored the only Ram win, taking the shot put with a heave of 31 feet, 4.5 inches.

Chloe Spain was the only Shelby girls to win an event. Spain won the 8th grade girls mile (6:16.10) by over six seconds.

The Ram 8th grade boys had six 1sts to lead that meet. Pana 7th grade boys had five 1st place finishes to lead that meet. Pana 8th grade girls dominated their meet.

The 7th and 8th grade boys scores combined, placed them 3rd (156). Altamont scored 181 points combined, followed by Central A&M (162), then Shelby boys (156). The women’s combined scores (7th and 8th) had Pana with 186, Hillsboro 166.5, Central A&M 134 and Shelbyville was 6th (80).
