The Shelbyville Daily Union Athletes of the Week stood out in the postseason.
The first athlete won back-to-back games at sectional to send his team to the Elite 8. Christian Vonderheide came in as the closer in a sectional semi baseball game and got the win.
Vonderheide then threw a complete game, 4-hit shutout in the sectional championship game, striking out eight and walking no one. Vonderheide also was 1-of-2, but scored 3 runs and drove in another.
Jason Fry of Stew-Stras track claimed the IHSA Class A Shot Put State Championship on Saturday and earned a 3rd place medal in the discus.
Fry threw 56 feet, 8 inches in the shot on Saturday and upped his discus distance with a throw of 164 feet, 10 inches.
Corey Kersey of Neoga won double state championships in the long jump and the triple jump at the IHSA Class A State Track Meet.
Kersey went 22 feet, 6.5 inches in prelims and that leap held up. Kersey triple-jumped 47 feet 2.25 inches, a personal best, during prelims and that was the state best.
Jason Pokalsey of Central A&M won the IHSA State Class A Track Meet Championship in the 400 meter dash (49.07). Pokalsey also placed 7th in the 200 dash (22.79).
