BC Upsets St. Elmo, Then Loses

SHELBYVILLE, IL. —

Beecher City just lost to St. Elmo/Brownstown last week, 45-32. But at regional on Monday, BC knocked off the St. E/B, 72-56. BC then lost to top-seed Altamont on Wednesday, 73-49.

BC buried St. Elmo with a 25-5 run in the 1st 8:00. St. E/B got back in the game with an 18-13 run in the 2nd, but the damage had been done and B.C. was not going to back off. BC was up by 15 at the half, 38-23. The 3rd period was a tougher go in a defensive quarter. BC held serve and was still up by 16 heading into crunch time, 50-34.

In the 4th, St. E/B tried to erase their deficit with a 22-point period. However, BC was able to match them and scored the upset.

BC had five players in double figures. Bales had 15, Barnes had 14, Rexroad had 13, Doty had 13, and Gardner had 12. St. E/B had three players in double-digits.
