SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Shelbyville trailed Sullivan 2-0 until the 4th inning, then put up a 5-spot to take the lead and never look back, winning 8-3.

Andrew Hawkins had another complete game victory, bending and not breaking. He gave up nine hits, but just two walks, while striking out seven. Ryan Johnson took the loss for Sullivan, but it wasn't all his fault. Only three of the eight Rams allowed were earned. Johnson also allowed nine hits with just one walk, striking out five.

Sullivan booted the ball in the 4th and could have limited the damage, but the floodgates opened and the Rams rushed through.

Three Rams had multiple hits. Luke Hatfield and Nate Standerfer were both 2-for-4 and Neil Yockey was 2-for-3. Yockey drove in two runs. Sam Atchison was 2-for-4 for Sullivan and Dakota Clayton went 2-for-3.

Shelby was to play at Vandalia, Thursday, weather permitting.
