Devils Can't Undo Arthur

SHELBYVILLE, IL — Windsor lost to Arthur in the final match of the regular season in a 3-set marathon. They hoped to win the rematch at the Arcola Regional Final. However, Arthur was able to repeat their previous performance and beat Windsor, 23-25, 25-17, 25-21.

However, Windsor played equal to Arthur. They were out-scored by just three points in the first meeting.  This time, if not for the let down in the game 2 equalizer, Windsor would have been out-scored by just two points in three games.

Autumn Bennett was back from mono and hoped to join Paige Woolard and Katie Hostetter in the front line to tip the scales in Windsor's favor.

Bennett accounted for 10 net points (7 kills, 3 blocks) and five aces. Woolard set a season-high 17 kills with one block (18 net points) and Hostetter hit five kills and one block (6 net points).

Devil setter Olivia Williamson dished a season-high 26 assists and also got up for four blocks and got down for 10 digs. Bayleigh Tabor led the Devil defense with 13 digs.

The devils out-played Arthur on paper, however, it still wasn't enough to upset the 26-3 Knights.

Windsor had 30 kills, Arthur 24. Windsor had nine blocks, Arthur five. Windsor had 38 digs, Arthur 36. The only stat Arthur did better in was service aces. Arthur had 12 aces to Windsor's nine. That only accounts for three points over three games.

Arthur was able to put their points together to win game 2 and 3 and they survived to advance to sectional.
