A&M Dawged By St T In Final

SHELBYVILLE, IL — Central A&M had earned their way to the Macon 2A Regional Final, but once there they found their OVC rival rabidly headed to the title. St. Teresa won, 25-17, 25-11.

The Raiders stayed with the Bulldogs throigh the first half of game 1, then St. T got separation and never looked back.

Mikah Maples, a typical leader at the net, but didn't have a single kill. The rest of the hitters only tallied 12 kills. Ryan Dooley and Kaley Hennings led the way with four kills and one block, each.

Kalya Gibson had the only Raider ace of the match, while Hennings and Gibson dished five and four assists, respectively. Taylor Jordan led the defense with 13 of the 23 team digs.

On the other side of the net, St. T was off the hook. Marie less had a match-high 14 kills and Elizabeth Ganley dished out a 31 assists in a too-quick, 2 game set.

Central A&M finished the season 15-14.

    Shelbyville boys and girls swept the Tuesday triangular track meet at Maroa. Shelby boys scored 100 points and the girls 98 points, defeating Maroa and Meridian.
