Okaw assaults Argenta, Warrensburg

Okaw Valley Middle School baseball, whose only loss came at Shelbyville, annihilated Argenta, 10-0, on Monday and walloped Warrensburg on Tuesday, 11-0.

Garrett Fritz threw a no-hitter with no walks, striking out 10 and scored the walk-off run to end the game. Two AO batters did reach base on errors in the 1st inning, then AO was shut down. Austin Harshman led the Timberwolves at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a triple, and RBI, and three runs scored.

Okaw wasted no time scoring. Harshman led off the Okaw 1st with a triple, then Hagerman doubled him home, 1-0. Fritz then doubled Hagerman in, 2-0.

Okaw extended their lead in the 4th. Yarnell singled and Austin Hill walked. Harshman singled to load the bases. Hagerman reached on an error and it was 3-0 with the bases still loaded and one out. With two outs, Drake singled Hill home and the bases were still loaded. Harshman went ahead and scored, 5-0.

Hutson Dickens led off the 5th with a single and Yarnell reached on an error. Ethan Macklin grounded out, but drove in a run. Harshman singled and Hill scored, 7-0. Hagerman singled and Harshman ended up on 3rd. Hagerman scored on an error. Fritz reached on an error and Hagerman went to 3rd. Hagerman scored on a wild pitch and Fritz went to 3rd.

With one on and no outs in the 5th, leading 9-0, Drake drew a walk and Fritz scored for the walk-off win, 10-0 in five innings.
