Okaw assaults Argenta, Warrensburg


Tuesday was a Okaw repeat, pounding out another 12 hits and their pitcher being large and in charge. Austin Harshman threw a 2-hit shutout over five innings with just one walk, while striking out five. Fritz and Drake both launched home runs.

Harshman led off the game with a double and went to 3rd on a ground out. Coleman and Fritz followed with consecutive RBI doubles. Drake then cranked a 2-run home run for a quick 4-0 lead. In the 2nd, Hagerman walked and, with one out, Fritz blasted a 2-run home run, 6-0.

Fast forward to the Okaw 4th with the score still 6-0. With one out, Drake ans Dickens singled. Drake scored and Yarnell walked. Bunfill singled and Dickens scored. Holt walked.A fielder’s choice scored a run and with two outs and two on, Coleman reached on an error, scoring Bunfill. Okaw was up, 10-0.

Fritz reached on an error in the 5th. With two outs, Yarnell singled and Fritz went to 3rd. Jared Bunfill hit a double and drove Fritz in, 11-0.

Okaw Valley (13-1) heads to Brownstown on Thursday, then hosts Tri-County on Saturday.
