A&M Boys Win Macon County, Girls 2nd

Central A&M boys strutted their superiority at the Macon County Meet on Thursday, while the Raider girls had to battle their nemesis and settle for second.

CAM boys dominated, scoring 140 points, 53 points ahead of the 2nd place team. The Raider girls scored 184 points, but were 2nd to St. Teresa (208).

Jason Pokalsey led the Raider boys by winning three events and breaking a school record in one of them. Pokalsey ran a school record-setting 49.69 in the quarter. He swept the other two sprints, the 100 dash (11.52) and the 200 dash (2:09). Zack Ballinger won the 110 hurdles (17.12) and was 2nd in the 300 hurdles (45.59).

Three other Raiders had double success. Trent Chepan won the shot put (46-1) and was 2nd in the discus (126-8). Ryan Houser won the discus (131-6) and was 2nd in the pole vault (9-0). Chaylin Simms was 1st in the pole vault (11-0) and 3rd in the 300 hurdles (45.72)

Taylor Adcock was 1st in the 100 dash (12.75), the 100 hurdles (16.18) and the 300 hurdles (45.87) again, but it couldn't carry the Lady Raiders past St. T. Kaitlyn Corzine was 2nd in both hurdle events and the Raider relays had three 2nd place finishes and won the 4x4.

Genny Rose Stringer won the discus (129-7) and was 2nd in the shot (32-11). Mikaela Cole was 1st in the pole vault (8-9) and was 2nd in the quarter (1:03.96). Paige Seitz and Allie Heaton had 3rd place finishes in the 800 (2:35) and 1600 (5:54.01) runs, respectively. But, it still wasn't enough to edge St. T.
