---- — The senior leader of the Egyptian-Illini Conference Champion Cowden-Herrick Hornets (16-11, 6-1 EIC), Luke Moore, has signed to play collegiate basketball at Lake Land College in Mattoon.
The 1200-point scorer was named Co-Winter Athlete of the Year by the Shelbyville Daily Union.
Moore was a 1st Team pick in the NTC conference, 1st Team in the EIC conference, was voted the MVP of the EIC regular season by 14 points over the second place vote-getter. He also was named to the St. Elmo Tourney all-tournament team.
Moore scored 406 points and grabbed 286 rebounds this year, averaging 17.1 points and 10.6 boards to average a double-double. He nailed 41 3-pointers. Moore didn’t just score. He dished a team-high 40 assists. On defense, he had 44 steals and 19 deflections. He also wrapped up 210 defensive boards.
