A&M settles for OVC 2nd

A&M scored in every relay. They won the 4x4 (4:12.93) with Cole, Dooley, Corzine and Jorgi Sparrgrove. They were 3rd in the 4x1 with Dooley, Corzine, Sparrgrove, and Sarah Bailey (51.98) and 3rd in the 4x8 with Mikaela Cole, Salena Sloan, Paige Seitz, and Kylee Burcham (10:23.01). They were 4th in the 4x2 with Dooley, Abigail Hilton, Sparrgrove, and Mikah Maples (1:56.06).

Maples, a freshman, was back in the weight events with senior state medalist Genny Rose Stringer. Stringer won the discus (138-10) with a throw seven feet seven feet further than her previous season-best. Maples was 3rd (113-2). Stringer was 4th in the shot with one of her best heaves of the season (33-3.5) and Maples was 5th (32-7).

Mikaela Cole faced a full field in the pole vault and finished 5th (8-6), as well as scoring in the 400 (1:04.68), placing 4th. Bailey also scored in the high jump, placing 5th (4-6).

Shelbyville’s best performance came in the 800 run by freshman standout Morgan Powers, who placed 2nd (2:25.99). Molly Yockey placed 5th in the 3200 (12:44.29). CAM freshman Salena Sloan scored in the 800 run (2:34.27) and 1600 run (5:51.93), both 6th places.
