While the rain has effected racing it hasn’t dampen the spirits of the die hard racers at CCD. Mother Nature has really hit CCD racing program this year with a rain out of last Saturday’s program. With clouds looming all day Sunday, the program was able to be completed.
In Super Pro it was an all Dragster final with Walt Edwards of Charleston, IL in his Romine Race Cars Dragsters beating Shelbyville’s Troy Salazar in his 02 RaceTek Dragsters. Salazar’s Runner-Up moved him into a tie for 2nd in points with Gibson City’s Chad Lantz.
In Pro, the 2012 Track Champion Tom Harlin of Mattoon, IL in his 76 Camaro got his first win of the year beating Rhonda Myers of Ramsey, IL in her 64 Barracuda.
In Sportsmen, Kassie Edwards-Wilson of Charleston, IL, who has been on a tear winning 3 of 5 races in her 99 Camaro, beat Ron Veach Sr of Charleston, IL in his 99 Pontiac Solstice.
There has been record attendance in the Bike category and its been a tight points battle. Troy Russell of Decatur, IL on his 94 Kawasaki beat Brian Davis of Whiteheath, IL on his 02 Suzuki.
