---- — Opening night of the 2013 Shelbyville Men's Softball League saw BAMF going 2-0. Night 2 saw Joe's Pizza also starting undefeated. Night 3 ended in a split between Legends Draft House and B&R Marine.
On Wednesday, BAMF broke open a 1-1 game 1 in the 3rd with a 4-run spurt to lead 5-1. Naber Grain cut it to 5-3 in 5th, but BAMF made it 6-3 in the bottom of the inning, then had a 5-run rally in the 6th for an 11-3 lead.
Naber Grain tried a heroic comeback in the top of the 7th, They put up six runs to close to within two, 11-9, when the ran out of ammo and took the loss.
In game 2, BAMF once again broke open a close game. Leading 2-1 in the top of 5th, BAMF had 6-run rally to lead 8-1. They upped the lead to 10-2 in the 6th.
Naber tried to gin up a late comeback again with a 4-run rally in the bottom of the 6th, 10-6 BAMF. But BAMF wasn't done. They added a triply in the 7th to go up by eight, 13-5. Naber could only trim the margin of defeat by one in their final at bat and started 0-2, while BAMF stood undefeated.

On Thursday night, Joe's Pizza's Jason Kirby kept punctuating the games with long balls. He had three round trippers.
He drew first blood in game 1, homering in the 1st, 1-0. Nick Wheeler bested that in the 3rd with a 3-run shot to give DJ's Landscaping the lead, 3-1.
Joe's didn't wait to reclaim the lead. In the bottom of the 3rd, Joe's rallied for seven runs, with another Kirby solo long ball, to lead 8-3. DJ's failed to score for the third of four innings.
Joe's Pizza came right back to score three in the 4th and go up 11-3. DJ's shot blanks again in the 5th and were on thin ice. Joe's just needed two runs for the 10-run early dismissal. They got the two runs got off to an easy season-opening win, 13-3.
In game 2, Joe's lit the fuse early. They scored seven runs in the 1st inning with a solo homer from Jim Herschberger. DJ's failed to score for the fifth of six innings on the night.
Joe's had a 5-run 2nd without a homer to go up 12-0. DJ's finally got on the board in the bottom of the 2nd, when Brock Boltz went yard with a 2-run shot. DJ's got the lead under 10, trailing 12-4.
Brandon Clark put Joe's up by 10 again in the 3rd with a 2-run home run. But DJ's would make a run.
Brent Weakly lit the lamp for 3 runs in the DJ 3rd to highlight a 7-run rally, trimming the Joe lead to 14-11.
The game was in the balance. Joe's went up 16-11 in the 4th on another long ball by Herschberger (2-run), but DJ's kept it close with a Wheeler solo homer in the bottom of the 4th, 16-12 Joe's.
Joe's Pizza then ginned up an EF-5 on the field spinning the revolving door at home plate 13 times. Kirby hit his third home run of the night, a 3-run blast.
Joe's was up prohibitively, 29-12, with DJ's needing a bunch to keep the game alive in the bottom of the 5th. They got just one run and had a long drive home.

On Friday night, Legends broke open a 2-2 game in the 3rd with a 5-run rally. They never slowed down, scoring two in the 4th and seven in the 5th to earn the 10-run early dismissal.
Jeremy Piper was the Legends hero getting the most out of the 1-home run rule per inning, launching a grand slam.
In game 2, B&R flipped fate, by getting their own 10-run win. B&R opened with an 8-run 1st and Legends' tap was dry. Down 9-0 in the 4th, Legends finally got on the board with a 3-run rally.
The game was back in play with B&R up by just six runs. However, they posted their second 8-run rally in the 5th and put Legends in a 17-3 hole. Legends tried to draft a comeback, needing five runs to stay the early execution. They got just four runs in the bottom of the 5th and had to settle for a split.
Craig Ogle and Ben Wheeler each had 3-run home runs.
