Jr. Legion Sinks Centralia

Shelby Jr. Legion took 5th at the Altamont Tourney by doubling up Centralia, 12-6.

Shelby had 23 base runners in the game and struck out just four times. Seven batters hit safely, led by Tristan Warner (W), going 3-for-4, driving in three and scoring three times. Nick Hutchinson (W) was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Dylan Ohnesorge (SS) and Mark Jones (SS) also doubled.

Devin Deremiah (W) and Jones combined for just a 2-hitter, while walking 11 and striking out seven.

Shelby scored 11 of their 12 runs in a 3-inning feast. They scored three in the 2nd, four in the 3rd, and four in the 4th, gradually pulling away.

In the 2nd, Jones reached on an error, Josh Overbeck (SS) singled and Warner singled. Blake Nichols reached on an error, 3-0. Centralia answered with two runs, 3-2 Shelby.

In the 3rd, Ohnesorge sparked the rally with a lead-off double. Derek Moschenrose (SS) singled and Overbeck walked. Warmer singled again and Nichols walked. Tyler Hendryx (SH) singled for a 7-2 lead. Central got two runs in response, 7-4.

In the 4th, Moschenrose walked, Overbeck was hit by a pitch and Warner singled. Trevor Easton reached on an error and Hutchinson capped the rally with a double, 11-4 Shelby.
