Ram 7th Enter Playoffs 15-6

After the holidays, Shelbyville 7th basketball, then 12-3, went 3-3 and finished the regular season, 15-6.

Meridian, 35-25, but lost to Monticello in the semi, 39-29. Shelby won the 3rd place game over Clinton, 35-30. Shelby lost to Mattoon, 46-30, before their regular season finale win over LSA.

In a see-saw game, Shelbyille trailed St. Anthony, then took a 4-point lead at the half after a 10-2 run. They led by one going into the fateful 4th, but St. Anthony had an 18-9 run as they pulled away for the win.

In the first round of the conference tourney, Shelby used 1st and a 3rd period runs to go up by 13 heading into the 4th and they coasted to the 10-point win. Miller led Shelby with 18 points.

Against Monticello in the semi, Shelby was smacked with a 14-3 run in the 1st. They competed after that, but still trailed by 15 heading into the 4th. They cut the final margin to 10 but lost.

    Shelbyville boys and girls swept the Tuesday triangular track meet at Maroa. Shelby boys scored 100 points and the girls 98 points, defeating Maroa and Meridian.
