After Okaw Valley started the postseason with a rare win to get to their own Bethany 1A Volleyball Regional semifinal on Monday, Windsor ended their season on Tuesday and advanced to the championship on Thursday, beating the Timberwolves, 25-15, 25-23.
Okaw Valley played Arcola in the #4/#5 match of the Bethany Regional, and after started with a lack-luster game 1 loss, the Timberwolves turned it around get some satisfaction from a long season, winning 16-25, 25-18, 25-15.
Okaw had three double-digit performers. Alayna Wooters had a standout performance at the net, swinging for a team-high 12 kills and also got down for seven digs. Setter Mollee Decesaro dished out an impressive 21 assists. Shelby Dash led the mid-court defense with 11 digs, to go with her team-2nd six kills.

After the feel-good win on Monday, the T’Wolves were up against the #1 seeded Windsor Blue Devils, a program with several 20-win seasons and deep playoff appearances. It was a miss-match, at least in game 1, losing 25-15. Okaw then went down swinging in just a 2-point loss in game 2 as they took their bows, 25-23.
Ashlyn Nickerson and Shelby Dash really stepped up, especially in net defense. Nickerson swung for four kills and got up for two blocks (6 net points) on the Devils. She also served a team-high six points. Dash rose up to block a team-high six shots from the Devils to go with her one kill (7 net points).
Alayna Wooters recorded four digs and three kills with one block (5 net points). Brenna Lynch led the mid-court defense wit five digs. Quarterback Mollee Decesaro ran the offense by dishing seven of the 12 team assists.
Meanwhile, Windsor was led by the same suspects. Jenny Bullock led at the net, assisted most by underclassmen Autumn Bennett and Paige Woolard and on defense. Dani Bell at the line and on defense, with Amanda Tucker also playing a key defensive role. Lindsay Floyd and Olivia Williamson both directed the offense from the setter position.
Senior Jenny Bullock led Windsor with six kills and five digs. Senior libero Dani Bell had a team-high four aces and a team-high six digs. Freshman Autumn Bennett had three kills.
Olivia Williamson and Paige Woolard had three aces each.
Williamson had seven assists and Lindsay Floyd had six.
Windsor (21-10) was to play the regional final vs. Arthur at 6 p.m., Thursday, at Okaw Valley.
