Raiders Beat Sages

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Central A&M flirted with a winning record throughout the fall. On Thursday, they finished off their regular season with a 14-13 record, beating Monticello, 25-22, 25-14.

It only took A&M 11 kills and nine assists to strike a death blow. Their defense recorded 36 digs, which was key.

Mikah Maples led the attack with four kills, followed by Kaley Hennings with three. Hennings also dished out a team-high six assists. Maples and Taylor Jordan were a 1, 2 punch on defense. They both got down for 13 digs, each.

Net defense was led by Kylee Burhcam and Ryann Dooley with two blocks, each.

Central A&M (14-13) heads to the Macon 2A Regional on Tuesday. A&M (#2) plays Meridian (#3) at 7 p.m.
