Eagles Downed Twice

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Beecher City Jr. High basketball lost a pair of sweeps this week, losing to Mulberry Grove, then Stew-Stras.

Tuesday, Mulberry Grove beat BC 7th, 38-7, and beat BC 8th, 54-8. On Thursday, Stew-Stras beat BC 7th, 30-21, then beat BC 8th, 51-6.

Mason Stewart was all BC had. He scored all seven points in the 7th grade game. MG had six players score, led by Hans with 11, followed by Lathan with seven. Four teammates scored five points, each.

In the 8th grade match-up, three BC players scored a total of eight points. MG had three players in double figures, led by Wright with 19, Latham with 15, and Gauch 10.

BC 7th had one, almost two, of their three scorers in double figures, led by Mason Stewart with 10 points. Adam Burton led Stew-Stras with 14 points. Six more scorers gave Stew-Stras the 9-point margin of victory.

Stew-Stras 30, Beecher City 21

Mason Stewart led BC again, this time with 10 points, followed by Dakota McKee with eight and Preston Morales with three.

Stew-Stras' seven scorers were led by Adam Burton with 14 points, followed by Jaden Miller with six points.
