Hornets Swatted by Neoga


Cowden-Herrick (11-13) was going for a .500 finish in the Dieterich 1A Regional semifinal as they took on Neoga. However, the Indians were able to swat down the Hornets in swift fashion, 25-10, 25-13.

It was a balanced 21-kill attack that put down the Hornets quick and in a hurry. Tayler Grsens led the way with seven kills, while Olivia Ott was the other net threat with six kills. Courtney Croy had four kills and two blocks for another six net points. Jillian Dteres and Kellie Kastel provided four and two kills, respectively. 

Kastel led the court defense with 11 digs. Demmie Long was the other double-digit performer. She ran the offense, dishing out out 17 assists towards the 21 kills. Deters and Mallori Harshman led at the line with two aces, each.

Cowden-Herrick finished up their season getting  a team-high two kills from Haven Lorton. Jensyn Morrison and Sarah Clearwater had a block, each. Emma and Hannah Wehrle accounted for eight of the 12 Hornet digs, recording four each. Lorton had the other four.
