Windsor notched a convincing, 25-19, win in game 1 on Tuesday. Instead of having a let down in game 2, the Devils fended off a desperate Rider comeback, showing grit down the stretch and taking game 2 in OT, 26-24.
Windsor advances to the regional championship against top-seeded Arthur. The Devil relish the opportunity, as they were lost a very game challenge to the Knights in the final match of the regular season, being out-scored by just three points in a 3-game blow-by-blow marathon, 26-24, 23-25, 25-22.
Windsor played a whale of a match without Bennett. Hitters Paige Woolard and Katie Hostetter swung for a season-high 16 and 15 kills, respectively, in a valiant performance against the 23-2 Knights. Woolard added four blocks to record 20 net points in a match an area season-high. Setter Olivia Williamson also dished a season-high 24 assists in that match.
Arthur defeated Atwood-Hammond in the other regional semifinal, 25-23, 25-19.
