W/SS Skunked By South Central

JOHN CURTIS - Daily Union Sports Editor

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Windsor/Stew-Stras co-op was golden last spring. But this fall started out a lot different, as they were skunked by South Central on Thursday, 11-0.

Windsor only managed four hits in the 5-inning early dismissal, while South Central pounded out 11 hits. Brandon Helmuth Christian Vonderheide and Alex Allen all went 1-for-3, while Bryse Bugger was 1-for-1.

It was a scoreless tie through two innings, then South Central put a down payment on the outcome with a 2-run 3rd. It was still just a 2-0 game in the bottom of the 5th, when South Central opened the floodgates and ended the game in dominant fashion, a 9-run rally.

Windsor/Stew-Stras (0-1) is back in action on Tuesday, September 4 at Louisville.
