Windsor Blue Devils Get 1st Win

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — The Windsor basketball has played tough, but their short bench has mitigated their efforts early this season. On Friday night, the Blue Devils got huge contributions from a couple of players and won a shootout against Brownstown to earn their first win, 62-59.

It was a shootout in the 1st with Windsor leading by just one point, 18-17. The 2nd was about the same, but the Devils lead by four at the break, 34-30. The 3rd was close again with more defense, but the Devils still emerged with a 6-point lead, 48-42. In the final frame Brownstown made a push to trim the lead, but the Devils held serve and survived with the win.

Windsor got 27 points from freshman Tristan Warner and 18 points from junior Alex Allen. Warner was the arc angel scoring 18 of his points from six 3-pointers. Allen scored ten from points from the field and also sank 8-of-13 free throws.

Brownstown also got big games from two players. Sefton scored 23 and Behrends scored 17. But the Windsor treys and the frequent flyer miles to the free throw line tipped the scales in their favor.

There were a ton of free throws shot, but not just real well. Windsor shot 42 free throws, making a little over half (24). Brownstown shot 17 free throws and only made about a third (6).
