Moulton Sweeps Maroa

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Moulton basketball hosted Maroa on Thursday and swept them back towards to Decatur. Shelby 7th (6-2) didn't score in the 4th quarter and still won by double-digits, 34-24. Shelby 8th stayed undefeated (8-0) with a strong finish, 33-27.

The 7th grade game was close in the 1st half. Shelby took a 3-point lead in the 1st, but Maroa came back to take a 1-point lead at the break, 17-16.

The 3rd period was Shelby "shock and awe." Malcolm Miller scored 10 of his game-high 21 points in the 3rd to lead a Ram 18-2 run. Emric Messado hit his second trey in the run and Johnston made two free throws and a 3-pointer.

With a 15-point lead, the Rams dialed it down and didn't score in the 4th. No matter, Maroa only scored two buckets and a free throw and fell by 10.
