SHELBYVILLE, IL. — The Central A&M Lady Raiders (12-2) continued their march through the regular season like Sherman to the sea. The Raiders took out Tuscola on Thursday, 55-43, then knocked off Nokomis on Saturday, 53-36.

A&M used a balanced approach to beat Tuscola and their marquee player. A&M had three, almost four players, in double figures, while Tuscola had two almost three, but only four players score. A&M had six players score.

A&M took advantage of a slow start by the Warriors and ran out to a 15-4 in the 1st period lead. Tuscola got some traction in the 2nd, but A&M still extended their lead to 14 points at the break, 30-16.

Tuscola hung on in the 3rd, allowing A&M to just up their lead to 16 points heading into the final frame, 45-29. Down the stretch, Tuscola trimmed their deficit, but A&M still won by a dozen.

Genny Rose Stringer led A&M with 13 points (3-of-5 at the line), followed by Sarah Bailey with 12, all from the floor, and Taylor Jordan with 10 points off a pair of deuces and a pair of treys. Allie Heaton scored eight points, including 4-of-4 from the line.

Tuscola’s prime-time player, Weaver, had a game-high 20, followed by Miller with 10 and Ponder with nine.
