---- — On May 1, the Christian County grand jury returned indictments against four Pana residents int he death of James Adam Bertin.
Dylan Carroll, 17, Lee Coke, 39, Victor Chain Pickel, 37, were all indicted for Mob Action.
Travis Gregg, 29, was indicted for Mob Action and First Degree Murder of James Adam Bertin. If convicted, Travis Gregg would face a mandatory prison sentence of 20 to 60 years.
The indictment alleges, in multiple counts, that Travis Gregg stabbed James Adam Bertin thereby causing his death. Bond is set at $500,000 for Travis Gregg and $250,000 for the remaining Defendants.
The investigation is begin conducted by joint efforts of the Pana Police Department, Illinois State Police Zone 4 Investigations, and the Christian County Sheriff’s Department.
Christian County State’s Attorney Mike Havera stated, “I am extremely appreciative oft he thorough work done by law enforcement and will continue to work aggressively with them to see to it that these individuals are held accountable.”
Havera also stated an additional criminal proceeding is also being brought against a juvenile in regards to these events.
