Shelby County 4-H Happenings for September

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — September is a busy month for many Shelby County 4-H Clubs. September starts the new 4-H year. Many clubs are forming, electing officers and completing their paperwork for the new year. Shelby County 4-H is open to those boys and girls who are 8 and have not reached their 19th birthday as of September 1, 2013. We haven’t left out those younger members. Shelby County offers a Cloverbud Club for those members who are 5-7 years of age as of September 1, 2013.

County 4-H events for September:

September 14th – 1st Cloverbud meeting for the year. The meeting will be at the Shelby County Extension Office and starts at 10:00. Cloverbud meetings consist of a lesson, hands on activities and a snack. Each month will be a new topic.

September 14th - Shelby County 4-H members will have a petting zoo at Shelbyville Rehab from 10:30-12:00. Come out and meet some great 4-Hers and visit with them and their animals.

September 16th – Shelby County Federation holds their first meeting at 7:00 at the Shelby County Extension Office. Shelby County Federation are delegates from the 4-H clubs in Shelby County. This group plans county activities that are held for members such as Christmas Craft Day, 4-H Fire-Up and the 4-H BBQ to name a few. Officer elections will be held at the September meeting.
