Pana Marathon robbed Tuesday morning


SHELBYVILLE, IL. — The following information regarding a robbery was released by Chief Daniel Bland of the Pana Polce Department:

On September 03, 2013 at approximately 1:47 am, Pana Police Department received a 911 transfer call reference to an armed robbery which just occurred at Marathon service station, 703 East Jackson Street. One individual entered the business and demanded money from the clerk while displaying a dark-colored handgun. The subject obtained a small amount of US Currency before exiting the business.

The subject is described to be approximately 5’10 – 6’00, 180-200lbs, wearing a mask and dark colored hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes.

A vehicle possibly involved in the incident was described as a small gray pickup, last seen accelerating southbound from the business on Hickory street. The Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigations Unit is assisting with the investigation.
