SHELBYVILLE, IL. —
A Windsor man is charged in the death of a Clark County man in January.
Thomas C. Messina, 19, was arrested in Joliet by Illinois State Police on February 25 and charged with first degree murder for the January 15 killling of Gregory Scott Collins of Casey. His arrest resulted from an investigation by the State Police and Casey Police Department.
According to records, Collins, 54, was killed in his Casey home, which was set on fire. Collins' German shepherd was also killed.
Messina also lived in the Casey neighborhood at one time.
Messina appeared in Clark County court Thursday, Feb. 27, and will reappear Monday, March 3. He is currently being held at the Clark County jail.
